We Have a New Home!
You know when you look everywhere for something that, turns out, was in front of you all along?
I've been looking for many months now for a space that can serve as both showroom and community hub. A space where Spanish speakers can feel the excitement of opening an attractive book that speaks their language, a place where readers can touch and smell the paper, get lost in a story, feel inspired by something they learn.
Selecting children's books is an in-person affair. It occupies all our senses. We need a comfortable space, soft lighting and good background music. Librarians and teachers need time to carefully evaluate materials. Caregivers will want to bring the kids themselves to pick their own books.
I'm happy to announce that I finally found the ideal space for ¡CHAU, LUNA! and it's here in Brooklyn: in the Spanish-speaking community of Sunset Park, in one of the old warehouses that is now part of Industry City!
While we get the space ready, save the date for our soft opening celebration on Friday, May 27 at 5 pm.
Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday June 4, from 11 am to 7 pm.
Our new address is:
¡Nos vemos muy pronto!
